Hi Will, dealer plays a part in it as you have to get them to fight for you but the first thing you have to do is try.

I suggest looking at the thread regarding rust repair on toronotmazda3.ca for helpful tips. It is a tough battle but do not give up!

Hi there Dave,

I have a 2006 Sedan and have noticed quite a bit of rust just starting. Has me kind of disappointed in that otherwise this is a good car. Can you give me any hints as to how you started the process in getting it fixed from the dealership? Do you think that you got lucky in going to the right dealer or do you think you would have gotten the same results elsewhere?

I am having similar problems with my 2004 Mazda3 sport 5 dr. Rust in the wheel wells, along the rear bumber seam etc. I was thinking of taking the car to Toronto Mazda near Yonge and Steeles.

The rust really became noticable during the winter and the paint bubbles are extending.

Any advice on how to approach the dealer on covering the costs of repair?

Regarding the tagline “Not your father’s Autobot”, this comes as a play on the then-current marketing tagline of “It’s not your father’s Oldsmobile” from the Oldsmobile car company. Oldsmobile was trying to reinvent itself for a younger audience — at the time, sales had started to decline and young people were not buying their cars because they were regarded as old people cars and kind of frumpy (Heck, it has “old” in the name).

So, in a satire of this marketing, the G2 Transformers used the similar tag line to show us that these new “next generation” Transformers books were going to going to raise the bar in what people considered a kid’s comic. More violence, more dark themes… not what you were used to in Transformers of the day.
